Subject: Nokia 9210i Calendar
Hi,
Just wondering if any nokia 9210i user manage to set their calendar storage to the memory card instead on the phone memory. It's taking up all the space on phone and its getting slower day by day. Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance,

Keith,
>>I copied the logo from the 5mx's Z drive to the PC's C drive<<
That's the problem. In order to save memory, file formats on Z (APP and MBM) are physically different from their external file system counterparts. Part of the neccessary decoding for running the APP or displaying the image is already carried out on the Z drive file versions. The ROM is memory mapped and files are used "in place" if possible.

My 5mx power connection has been on the blink for some time: the welcome green light only putting in an occasional appearance these days. It's the bit inside the case, since it does the same with two separate power connectors. Not the end of the world, but the end of rather more batteries than I am used to. Anyone have any bright ideas?

Thanks, but no thanks. If the digest team start sending out attachments with the digest, I'll be the first to unsubscribe. I'm giving way too much of my hard earned cash to Vodaphone Ireland as it is.

I have this too. For a while I only had it on the MC218 and then it suddenly appeared on the Mako as well. I wrote Neuon about it a long time ago, but didn't get any real answer.

How do you uninstall nConvert? There are so many little parts of it installed which all have their own line in Add/Remove.d I've never been able to figure out which belong to nConvert and which belong to other Neuon applications. It's all rather messy.

I've never bothered with wallpapers on my mx or MC218, but assuming you know how to create one (is it just an MBM?), one possibility would be to display the wallpaper on the mx, take a screendump (Ctrl+Shift+Fn+S) and edit the resulting bitmap to make a wallpaper file.

Hi folks...
Re: S7 Preferred Apps
Well, my question from curiosity yielded a good number of answers, thank you all...and if I had Itamar's knowhow, I could nearly publish a spreadsheet on the subject <g>...
Well, from the straw poll, banking programmes, and Chasdis7, did very well, as did Navigator; otherwise things were varied..
Some respondents, Keith Giles, in particular, chose to use the Preferred Apps to *hide* files... Keith, you know I have seen your Color Magic, and I can understand how you would want to hide it <VBG>, only joking Mr Blue :-)
Seriously, I thought about Backup, and Edgar Brazda's reply influenced me to put this, IMHO the best ?10 shareware I have purchased, back on my list...so
it is now no.4 in lieu of ExtraBars (see separate posting hereunder)!
And then, Rolf Brunstig mentioned Allegro, which I received free gratis from Exportech with my back-up 5mx, but which I had never even opened... so I decided to do so and install it: well, I am fairly impresssed, could well get used to it, my only reservation being that I fear scratching the screen...am I being over cautious in this regard?
And again, thanks to all who shared their ideas... :-)

Re: Freddie Starr ate my hamster!
Well, not quite (just getting your attention <g>), but ExtraBars has eaten the app next to Calc on my S7!
To explain: I had SignIt as the app first next to the Calc silk key on the right, and had occasion at times to open SignIt by pressing Ctrl+Calc to start the latter. This worked fine - and still will - when ExtraBars app is closed.
However, when ExtraBars app is *open*, no matter where its icon is on the Extras bar, Ctrl+Calc opens ExtraBars, and not SignIt! I even tried a hard reset (no problem with BackUp: just backup, then restore), but to no avail.
Of course, I obviously decided then to place ExtraBars as the app next to Calc, and this solves my problem ostensibly... but what is wrong here? Anyone else expereience this (not a major) matter, please?

Hi Owen,
My experience in this matter is that (for music files anyway) the freeware EPlayM works fine on S7, but not well at all on Revo or 5mx.... As to whether voice files would be a problem, I'm not sure, in fact probably not, so for their purpose, I would be inclined to try EPlayM for starters (www.zavorine.com/epoc). However, for any semblance of quality (is this a non sequitor?) on a 5mx or Revo, when it comes to music files anyway, you may need Audio, 12 euro shareware, quite good value (also works free but with song-stopping unacceptable nags). The makers are Viking Informatics, Hungary...don't have URL to hand but Google should help you...(www.viking.hu perhaps, if I recall?)

Hi Andy,
I'm sure this will all work out for you...the Lord works in mysterious ways...... good luck in Shetland, and I hope we'll hear from you on Epoc - or other subjects - again. For my part, you've been of great help (off-Digest,
as well as on) on this forum, and on previous preincarnations thereof, as long as I can remember, so God speed, and keep in touch!
..

Thanks to all who answered my query. Michael Degn was kind enough to send me the EPOC logo and it is successfully installed in the netBooks wallpaper folder.
Several of you told me about using the Ctrl key along with the 4 user silkscreens to be able to see those icons. I didn't know about that. But I still like using those to be able hide 4 apps I never use.
Mark Deppe asked me what my favorite color icon is. That's exactly like many of my friends asking me in which Western European country I like to cycle best. The only answer I can honestly give to Mark and to my friends is, "I like them all!" Correction, I think Bombs' icon stinks. :-)

Itamar, I recall checking the time of one of my postings to the list and saw that the time was the same as sent (EPOC uses time sent, IE uses time typed and not time sent). It looks like the downloader's time zone replaces the sender's zone, but _not_ the time.
Could this be connected to the PsiWin backup problem after a BST hour change? I'm of the opinion that it's not PsiWin, but the way M$ and EPOC store file times. DOS (still used by Windows) does not know about time zones in it's directory entries (I researched these entries extensively when long file names were introduced into DOS). But as Psions are designed to be moved between time zones, I guess that the file's time is related to GMT, and displayed according to the local Psion time.
