I can help you with your broken flexi on your 5mx - see my web site

www.psionflexi.co.uk for the answer to your prayers!!

About the best you could do for your charger for your Revo is a solar panel

or possibly a switched mode charger.  The main weight in PSU's is the

transformer and the switched mode variety either does not have one or has a

very light/small variety.

Subject: New Download Section

Dear All,

Just a quick a note to say we've added a new download section to

PsionComputer.com, to be found at www.psioncomputer.com/tgif.htm . The reason

for this new download section isn't to add to the many existing and excellent

downloads web pages to be found already, but to add something new.

Reason One; You may or may not know that FoxPop is dead. This really was a

brilliant site for many reasons, but I particularly liked it for its articles

and tutorials. TGIF tries to continue in the spirit of FoxPop by offering

quality articles and tutorials for free download (but in our case Psion

only). To kick off with you will find a large PDF article taken from Issue

Two of The Psion Computer Journal, plus a EPOC 5 format Sherlock Holmes

Database, Purple Software Powerbase business management system and Tony

Hancock Database.

Reason Two; I'm getting fed up with illegal distribution of Psion software.

To quote the web site "support and register software from the houses that are

still developing Psion software. If you have any illegally obtained software

running on your Psion, it must be there because it's useful. If so, don't be

a tight arse and register it, after all most reg fees are approximate to the

cost of a few beers." But to follow "Psion software has been going a long

time and it is only natural a few software houses have gone pear shaped. It

seems ridiculous that the superb software they developed has been lost and

can't be bought anymore, this site archives such software, plus loads more."

Again I would like to stress SUPPORT RMR, NEUON, FREEPOC, 3LIB, MARK

STEVENSON, BEN VAUGHAN ET AL. These chaps make our Psion's what they are.

So that all said, TGIF is updated every Friday morning (GMT), so when it

comes to Friday afternoon and the last thing you feel like doing is working,

you can log on and download a bit of fun for your Psion.

If you have anything you would like to upload to TGIF (any FoxPop driftwood

very welcome) please cont.

PS. At the start of many EPOC Digests it begins with "we have unsubscribed

John Doe because your email address is invalid, please email us with a new

address". It may be me, but if the email address he subscribes to the digest

is invalid, how can he read the digest to find out his subscription has been

cancelled?

This is great news Martin.  On every EPOC machine I always first install

Macro5 and then Chadis.

But it's not so good on my Revo+.  I look forward to a new version that works

fully on a Revo.

It's easier to hold down the <Ctrl> key and press 9 then 7 and release

<Ctrl>, to get an 'a'.  Use the table in the manual for the full set of ASCII

codes.  Why waste time with a Windows machine and the clipboard!

I also use SaveMail, but have many more, but smaller files.  The ability to

search every data box would be very useful.  Are you able to publish the

macro?

One limitation of SaveMail is printing out e-mails saved in data files.  Has

anyone done a macro for extracting one or all e-mails from a data file and

putting it (them) into a Word file using the same format as SaveMail uses?

I often need to send a copy of a saved e-mail, but the To: From: etc titles

are lost when copying from data files.

I found the file on the following URL:

http://real-www.surveyor.in-berlin.de/berlin/uhr/

The text is in German.

You seem to have downloaded the source file which has to be compiled to Java

byte code (one or

more .class files) before it can be run. You need the Java compiler wich

comes with the JDK (not the runtime).

On a PC the steps would be:

C:\myProject>javac bclock.java

You can ignore the warning about a "deprecated API". The program is some

years old and uses functions which are dicouraged by Sun nowadays.

What you get is a file named "bclock.class". Problem: the file can't be run,

because it is designed to be embedded in a web page:

<html>

<head>

  <title>bclock applet</title>

</head>

<body>

  <h1>bclock applet</h1>

  <applet code="bclock.class" width=242 height=180></applet>  </body> </html>

You simply create a file with the above contents and name it bclock.html. Put

the html and the class file in the same directory. You now should be able to

point your browser (on the PC or on your Psion) to the file and the program

should start.

I prepared a zip file with the html and compiled program for anybody who

wants to try:

http://www.mvcsys.de/download/bclock.zip

I ran on my OS/2-PC and my netbook without problems.

Alan,

Thanks for pointing out PsiGar5, but it doesn't match my criteria of being a

FREEWARE Garmin waypoint program, since it is shareware :-(

Though I suppose the fee of £15 isn't much, so I if there is no other

solution, and I can't be bothered to write my own solution, then I might well

pay it...

Dear Itamar,

1) just in case you are still interested in this topic, you may want to check

the following link: http://thinkoutside.com/products/stowaway-bt.html

2) for further pieces of information, you can also check the following thread

at PsionPlace (PdaStreet): "another one bites the dust"

http://www.pdastreet.com/forums/printthread.php?s=b6c838aa2bfdfa09e7c4a70c3ac7

it starts dealing with the Sony Clič, but there are also some interesting

posts about the P900. I just quote a few words written by Thomas Ullrich

(a.k.a. Mobilix):

HTH

to: all the macros experts ;-)

Every day I am in the need of converting quite a few M$ excel files I receive

via email from the company I work for.

After nConverting all of them, and saving each one with a proper name, I end

up with having several Epoc sheet copies of these files in the temp folder.

Is there anybody willing to help me in writing a correct procedure to clear

all the files included into the TEMP folder?

To make just one example, one name is:

TMP0600B - Recuperati_Foglio1.$$$

I tried with the following macro, but I understand that it was not accurate:

PROC main:

WHILE key=0

IF EXIST("c:\system\temp\TMP.*")

DELETE "c:\system\temp\TMP.*"

ENDIF

IF EXIST("c:\system\temp\Mcrp.tmp")

DELETE "c:\system\temp\Mcrp.tmp"

ENDIF

ENDWH

STOP

ENDP

should anybody have any suggestions, PLS write me off-line.

cheers

gianluca

Subject: Old Digests

Hi Folks,

I've been having a tidy up of my hard disk and have found a load of old

digests, quite a few of the original UPS V1 and V2 digests as well as the

EPOC ones. I could get a list of files to you if you really want but it could

take some time.

Is anyone interested in giving them a new home before they are redirected to

the wastebin in the sky?

Thanks

JP
