Can someone give me a quick guide to how I set my Revo up so that I can connect to my email/internet using it This is the one thing I have yet to get figured out, but might be quite useful.

Re.: TomTom CityMaps - Thanks for the answer. If the Add/Remove is your only problem you can delete the files from the \System\Install folder and they would AFAIK not appear anymore. I thought it was possible to use the maps of later versions of Citymaps that were not produced for Psion machines anymore but were for Symbian OS. I am not sure about the Navigator program. As long as you can somehow catch the maps in a .sis file you can use it AFAIK. By the way, recently I read about a new machine you can buy for in the car, that does not have any maps on it. It is in constant contact with a huge database via GPRS and uploads only the maps you need at a certain moment to get from A to B. Apparently it takes not more than about 20 seconds from entering A and B to download the map(s) with the route. However, there is a yearly charge for this service and it does not come cheap.
Would someone have a 2nd hand copy of Citymaps for sale ?

Thanks for that, it's what I have been trying to find out. It seems that in Italy definitely a prepaid local card gives more Mbs for one's money.
However, I also wanted a local ISP to gain cheaper dialup access, i.e. landline or GSM.

Subject: Macro 5 How to question
If anyone can point me to a resource for Macro 5, I would appreciate it. I can't quite get the hang of it. I am trying to setup my wife's netBook so that automatically at startup it opens SmtpAuth and Email. I've tried recording and pointing it to the *.app file for each on C: and/or Z:, but it says I can't do that.

Subject: PdbRead
Recently someone (I think in this digest) posted a link which allowed one to download PdbRead.zip. I've finally gotten around to installing the program. when I try to open it, I get a message "Program expired!", and suggests I download the latest version at www.palmaris.com. Apparently there is no longer such a site. I tried e-mailing the author, Dr Shane McKee,but that doesn't go either.
Does anyone know where one can find the latest app now?

Subject: 5mx Floppy Disk Drive/ RCOM/ DOS Comms
1 Has anyone been able to write a driver for a floppy disk drive for the Psion 5mx? I know that the Psion 3 series could use the Cyclone/ RAnger 3 drives but there was no provision for the Psion 5mx. I am assuming that a serial drive would work with the appropriate driver. 2 I have a copy of RCOM but cannot get it to work with my Psion 5mx. Has anyone got an "idiot's guide" to getting it to work? ie able to provide me with a copy of the ini file etc. All the information in the sample file relates to SIBO. I do not wish to use the PsiWIn 2.3 route. 3 Has anyone been able to get any old DOS comms software to work with Psion 5mx other than Filegram which I run on my old DOS (yes DOS!) laptop? As Filegram only runs to xmodem it can only xfer single files while I am looking for DOS sofware with the ability to send files in batches which I can run on this trusty old DOS laptop. All help gratefully accepted!

Melvin,

This simply will not play together. AFAIK the *Silver* card from Orinoco does not support encryption :-(
For a test you should do the following:
1) Disable encryption on all your devices
2) Assign IP addresses *manually* from the range 192.168.X.y where X must be the same for all devices and y is between 2 and 254
3) Assign different *host names* for all your devices (best without spaces and special characters); Dont use the name of your router in the respective setting for your MBook!
4) Type "ANY" into the "WaveLAN network name" field of your MBook.
You should then try to connect (e. g. with Opera to your router) from your mBook. The NetSataRF application can show you the present details of your connection.
If the above settings work, try to change one feature at a time (exept (3) which is always ok and probably (2); fixed IP adresses and a disabled DHCP server function in your router adds some
security). I fear that you are unlucky with encryption and your card, look for a *Gold* version instead.
