Answer to: Susan Katz Hoffman
Re.: Sony T610 - It will mos certainly not use EPOC, it might use Symbian. I
don't think it does, for sure in any way that is recognisable. I use the
phone and it has none of the usual functions. I don't think you can sync it
directly with your 5MX, and I never tried to use it's rudimentary diary
and/or sync it with Outlook.

Re.: Data Netbook > Nokia 9300? - Thanks for the answer. Can the phone read
such a file exported from the netBook and would all fields be copied
correctly or are there problems to be expected ?

Just thought some of you might be interested in this web site that recently
appeared - it suggests a rosy future for the Series 5xm!

Subject: 5mx packaging & documentation going begging
I have been something of an "absentee lurker" over the past few months -
occasionally scanning some of the Digests, probably because I am happily
using my 5mx which I am now completely at home with.
I am, however, in that limbo between Psion and current Palm/Pocket PC/Symbian
technology - I still use my Psion for everything (work data, home data,
diary, maps, recreation) because the keyboard allows me to enter data quickly
and for sustained periods, and I can have *everything* with me all the time.
However my Sony laptop with WXP won't speal to Psions (or my Nokia phone, for
that matter!) so I am having to consider the inevitable upgrade of
PDA/phone/digital camera from 3 to 2 (or 1) box(es)...
Anyway, I have been clearing out my cupboards, and have come across 5
virtually pristine Psion 5mx boxes with all their original documentation and
serial cables from my purchases over the past several years. I was planning
to throw this all away, but if anyone can make use of any of the
documentation or wants a serial cable, and are happy to pay for the postage,
email me - first come first served.

PS if anyone knows of a smartphone that will speak to a Sony laptop, or how
to persuade a Nokia 7650 to do so (their Bluetooths recognise each other but
won't communicate), I would be interested to hear more...

Try ebay with "T610" and "cable" (or Kabel, in German). Last time I looked,
ca 2 months ago, they were I think at most half as expensive as the original.
I found the SE T610 completely unpractical for me, sorry I bought it (nice
form-factor). Used it twice for about 15 minutes after reading the manual for
an hour then went back to my S ME45 (ugly but sturdy).

Thanks Kevin, it would be good to be able to talk to someone who has actually
owned a 9210. I just wondered if it were possible to define your own folders
in the email application for storing any emails or text messages.
For instance, you have inbox, outbox, draft, and sent folders, can you call a
folder 'letter rack' for instance and keep anything important there?
On my p800 this isn't possible and I feel it is a serious failing over my old
Revo+, and I miss a built in keyboard and a landscape screen. But I wouldn't
want to buy a 9210/9300/9500 without making sure it would let me define my
own folders.
Regards,
Mike Dyer.

Yes, they do allow GPRS but not normal "dialup" access as far as I know.
However, I've heard conflicting stories on this too! According to Orange you
can't have a seperate fax and data number on PAYG (GPRS doesn't use these).
Can you tell me what is involved in getting GPRS - do you just phone customer
services and get it enabled over the air? Can I use it with a Psion S7/Nokia
8210 combination? If yes, is the S7 easy to configure?
