Subject: RoutePlanner Overlays
After a lot of messing about I created an Editor file with a list of UK
cities in the format:
52.21,-0.11,"Cambridge"
I then used the app MakeOver (gotten from Martin Guthrie's TomTom Overlay
page), and it then created another Edit file with the same list in the format:
052.21.000,-000.11.000,"Cambridge"
Now I don't know how to use the list to make an overlay showing all the
cities in the list. I tried the "create an overlay" in the Route menu, but
it doesn't seem to do anything.
Can anyone tell me exactly what I should be doing?

Subject: Flip Off !!!
Flip Off !!!
Of course, I'm talking about the use of Sony Ericisson's P910 with the Flip
front removed !!!
Well, I've had my phone for over a month and have been using it for almost
2 weeks without the flip attached. What's it like?
Pros:
Much smaller and therefore easier to pocket
A little lighter. It's 146 grammes rather than the (quoted) 155.
It now looks reasonably respectable rather than pig-ugly (if that kind of
thing bothers you)
Cons:
The screen is unprotected.
The use of the phone is very unintuitive - i.e. asking somebody even to
just answer a call on your phone is guaranteed to confuse them.
It's hard to know what side is up - I passed my phone to a friend and he
chatted away to the person on the other end - with it upside down ...
So what will it be - on or off? I'm going to leave it off for another week
or so and then put it back on. At that point I will re-evaluate. Watch this
space!

Subject: EPOC Data files
I seem to remember that in the past I was able to export EPOC Data files to
tab-delimited files. The options are there, but now I am only able to
export comma delimited. This happens with my S7 and with the emulator
running on a PC.
Is this normal or is something wrong?
TIA

Yes it Does!!!
I OWN a copy of Smartmovie and there was NO NEED to run the file through
their pc converter.
I know I am 100% correct ;)

Subject: Netbook personality module
Hi all
Where can the netbook personality module for an S7 be obtained ?. I have
already upgraded the memory of the S7 but this is something different? I
would like to use wifi on the S7 as a reserve machine.
Screen calibration of the netbook has become a major problem. Almost
everyday I have to recalibrate and now, when I do it, it says that I am not
in the centre of point1 etc when I know that I am. The only way that I can
progress the calibration is by "missing" the target but the machine
"thinks" have have hit a bullseye! This seems not likely to achieve
anything. I try the suggested measure such as pressing down on the netbook
label but to no avail. My S7, mercifully seems OK in this respect. Are there
any other suggestions for curing this?
Thanks to all who responded about the Canon printing problem. I seem to
have got the S7 to print via a Canon i70 but for some reason not my Netbook!
I find the discussions about Psion replacements so interesting, it seems
that despite the wonderfull hardware advances of Nokia & Sony Ericsson we
will never retain the superb PIM functionality of machines such as the Revo.

Tony

Hi David,
Yes, I'd be delighted to host it. I almost offered when I saw your posting
on PDAStreet - but this did it for sure! Send it on over... :?)

Subject: nConvert problem
Hiya Kevin,
I had a similar problem, my fixes are;
1. Move the file to the System Drive C: rather than D: or E: and try the
convert from there
2. Rename the file to eg example.rtf , nConvert seems to have problems with
lack of extensions - or renaming the extension works.

Dear Peter,
I can't agree more, as you say 'elegance, power and flexibility' for me
sums up the Psion OS.
I've tried virtually all the mobile platforms and I have never found an OS
that offers such natural and intuitive input with such powerful
productivity values.
Kind Regards,
Will.

<Subject: Re: Migrating from Epoc (and back again!)>
Hi Peter. I seem to remember a long time ago someone (I think it may have
been Andy Hayes) writing on the topic of upgrading, saying if his netBook
got run over by a bus tomorrow he would go out and buy another one and why
do we all think we need to "upgrade"! I can honestly say that nothing I
have found can match the simplicity yet power of EPOC and I'm beginning to
feel I will never find anything that will suit my needs better. Let's all
keep our Psions going as long as possible! I'm hoping the 9500
Communicator will finally fill the gap my dearly departed 5mx left but we
shall have to wait and see :-) If you do get your S7 upgraded with the
Personality Module let us all know how you get on with the upgrade
(particularly if you successfully get Wi-Fi enabled on it).

You are probably thinking of the 400 or is it the 710.
My 720 has 128 Mb, but the CF slot takes my IBM 1Gb hard drive and can
also, at the same time, have a second card of the SD/MMC type installed.
So I can quickly swap CF cards between camera and 720. Looking at those
just taken, while still being able to take more.
The zoom in is very good to check on focus etc.
I've also tested the I-red port. It can I-red to my 6210 and dial
out. Not checked the modem yet.
