Subject: S5 and CF card

HI Folks,

I have a S5 and a 48Mb and 256Mb CF card. The 256 one has never worked in the S5 - it reports that no card is present. I bought the larger for my Olympus C5050Z camera, where it has been formatted. The samller I have had for a long time and used in the Psion. Unfortunately, I did the same with the 48Mb one and now the S5 doesn't recognised it.

If I remember correctly from previous posts this is probably due to the camera formatting the cards is a different way to the Psion. I have a card reader for my PC which runs XP SP2. The format porgram that comes with XP does not improve the situation any and has no opions to change the way it does the formatting.

Is there a (freeware) program I can get that will give me some choice as to how to format the cards? And if so, what settings should I use?

Hi,

with respect to Itamar's PbRead:
I've good experience in using perl on the series 5mx pro machine. So I got from http://search.cpan.org the perl script "palmdoc". Pipe your .pdb files through a perl-one-liner and you get an "easy to read everywhere file". The results depends on the original file sometimes it is plain text and sometimes it is simple html. This works on my unix workstation as well as on my psion.

Regards

Wulf

Subject: Can't register LittleSense...?

Hello all,

I hope that someone can help me, even if just to tell me they have gone bust:

I bought LittleSense through Handago, along with some other programs.  After dithering about which device to register LittleSense for (Netbook or Revo?), I eventually sent an email to Necronomicon on 20th December.  That's close enough to Xmas for it to be delayed until afterwards, so I waited...

Having heard nothing, and worried that my email might have been lost under two weeks worth of spam over the holiday period, I sent a follow-up reminder email on the 5th January.

To date I still haven't heard anything, and so am _starting_ to worry.  In another week I'll definitely be worried!  If someone has or has not had luck with Necronomicon recently, then I'd like to hear.  (The sooner I know there is a problem, the sooner I can try to sort it out with Handango.)

Hi Folks,

Thanks to Howard for clearing up the mystery - and to Chris. for tracing the eMail. I see absolutely no reason to punish Howard for another's childish prank - and a child at that.

As something for the Management team perhaps to consider, is Freeserve responsible for the BCC field becoming the CC field? Or is it Psion's eMail program? Rolf has been trying to solve the problem for some time, others too I assume, and the net result appears to be - nothing.

As the problem appears to be intermittent it *_might_* seem that differing Freeserve  mail servers could be responsible. More likely the problem is actually in the Psion software; perhaps the other eMail program would do better.

But I doubt that the Digest's program is to blame. Those responsible for it, primarily Rolf, have looked at it long and hard - and apparently they have not found a problem..

Happy days,
Phil.

Re.: Route Planning Software for Series 5 - Route- and Streetplanner have been discontinued by TomTom. You might find these in eBay and likewise websites. There were a variety of toher programs like Psi-Mapper and Realmaps. Have a look at www.3lib.com for more info.

Hi Folks,

Does anyone know when PocketDos will have their DOS emulator ready for the Psion/ Symbian platform? According to their  website it was to be ready late 2004. Does anyone know if it is still being developed or has it now been abandoned?

Subject: net Book not recognizing back-up battery

My two netBooks just quit recognizing their  back-up batteries even after replacing them with brand new ones known to be in top shape.

I am using Version 1.05 (450) Release 158 OSs.

Any suggestions as to possible cause/remedies would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance
