I just aquired a diamond mako (i'm in the US and it was only $40!) What kind of problems can I expect from the battery, I read that you can over charge it easily??

Peter,

>>I'd be grateful for any suggestions about good protective cases or suitable CF cards for the MC 218. For example, will a 1GB CF card work?<<

Don't know about the 1GB CF card, but I have been using a PalmTec (I think this is now Proporta) plastic case for my 5mx for the last 3 years. It has two sturdy slide clips, and plenty of padding inside. I have dropped it on more than one occasion, without any ill-effects, so I guess the case offers plenty of protection.

Hope this helps, Ian.

Hi Peter,
I have a 1GB card in my MC 218 and it works fine.  I had a 512 and went to the 1GB.  It's a Toshiba and it works great.  The case I have is from Palm-Tech and it's a blue, very stylish case.  It is just about unbreakable. You can go to www.proporta.com and they have many great cases.  Just find the one that is best for you.

Thanks,
Bob

Re.: service from Sony Ericsson - Thanks for yr answer. I have no time to look at that many different forums and websites to follow everything about my phone and mBook. I don't know how some people do it. I think I'll just refrain from upgrading. If it aint broke ....

Re.: rich format - Sorry but no, you cannot send messages to the digest in rich format. Or I should really say, you can but it will not show up in the digest. The digest is still run from our Psion's in the Psion email program which does not have rich format facillities.

Re.: Phonesecure for UIQ - Yes, a P910 is a Symbian UIQ device.

www.sitashop.com is selling spare netbook batteries for USD 55 (down from 75).
I bought my mbook from them last spring. Excellent service.

Hi Folks,
Does anyone have any info on how many files (avail slots) one can have in the root of a CF card? I haven't seen anything about this but I am guessing it will be like my LS120 floppies which have a limit on the number of files the root directory can hold. To get round this a directory has to be created and this permits storage of as many files as capacity will allow. Is the maximum number of files dependent on the capacity of the CF card (sliding scale) or is it the same irrespective of the size of the card? Larch

Charles,

If your contacts are in "Contacts" and you have Outlook (and not Outlook Express) on the desktop then synchronise your contacts via PsiWin. You may need to go to PsiWin properties to set this up. Then connect your IPAQ and setup ActiveSync to synchronise with your IPAQ. To do this you will need to register your IPAQ with ActiveSync rather than making it a "Guest" machine.

I use this method regularly to sync my Orange SPV (Windows Mobile powered) phone and my Revo via my desktop Outlook client. Works a treat.

If you don't have Outlook then I don't know I'm afraid...
