Good article. You might just like to correct the statement that the price is UK50 pounds for a reader to "under 10 pounds"! The multi-card readers are only about 15.

Maybe Remote S80 is what you are interested in. Take a look at http://mobileways.de/. It is still bind to a WLAN internet connection between desktop and the 9500 but hopefully will be enhanced to make use of Bluetooth and cable connections

Subject: Therbligs

Hi Folks,

Stéphane, a therblig is a unit of work, perhaps better described as a unit of effort as it not measured in joules (or equivalent). The name was coined by Frank Gilbreth, part of who's life was dramatised (and how) in the Hollywood film "Cheaper by the Dozen". The film, a comedy, starred Clifton Webb and Myrna Loy and was scripted by two of Frank's children.

The idea of minimising your therbligs (the quote is from the late Robert A. Heinlein) is that the less work necessary chores take the more time is available for fun.
; • }

That's why I like my Psions and carry one everywhere, why I like macros to automate "chores" on computers and why I believe that many things are made too complicated by people who *enjoy* making unnecessary work - and think I should enjoy doing it!

In a previous life I was a Production Engineer - my job was to make others' jobs easy (and economic) and myself redundant (some hope) so Heinlein's idea is close to my heart.

And I enjoy having fun.

Happy days,
Phil.

"Minimise your therbligs until it becomes automatic;
this doubles your effective lifetime -
and thereby gives time to enjoy
butterflies and kittens and rainbows."

Hi all,

I got my Revo Plus in the mail. I've connected the mains adaptor to the cradle, and hooked it up to the computer. My Series 5 connects just fine.. backed up everything. I Checked the revo, made sure remote link was on cable.. but nothing happens :( anything else i could be missing? I tried doing a hard reset, and a regular reset.. same thing :(

There is a small new program called CountdownSJ. It is a very simple countdown program giving an alarm when 0 has been reached. It could be useful for example for making sure your parking ticket/meter  does not run out or when boiling eggs .... to be found at the usual websites.

Answer to: Stéphane Sage

Re.: Nokia 9xxx - Yes, it does like nice to have one unit with you like that. However, even when traveling I do most of the serious work in the evening in the hotel room and the keyboards of the S5 and n/mbooks are still superior, as well as a much larger screen with the n/mbook. The UIQ format is good enough for the email here and there on the way until I reach the room and therefore I decided on this combination. It would seem a little strange to add a keyboard to a unit that already has got one anyhow. I can't help you with the answers to your questions, sorry.
