Subject: Psion emulator not responding
I had the OPL version in my computer working very well. Then it started being not responding. I uninstalled it (Windows add or remove programs), downloaded and installed the java version: not responding also, uninstalled the java version, downloaded and installed the OPL version: same: not responding. Any clue?

Is there an Psion emulator for Mac OS X?
Also I have tried a couple of the conversion apps for converting Agenda files to iCal but they tend to be incomplete. Has anyone been able to move all entries between these 2 formats?

Thomas,
No I sussed that one. As the circuit board is double sided, the underneath slots are "upside down".
Sadly that was not the fix. :-(

Itamar,
Sadly the reader works with my CF cards - I am wondering if I have to really format the MMC card.
Off-topic topics - well it is always a problem.
The Digest - great resource - that together with Palmtop, which is always a good read help keep the "psion" flag flying.
and thanks to you (and all the others) who contribute so much.

Subject: Speedcameras in UK, Speedcameras in UK,

Re.: Speedcameras in UK - As I don't have my own website I passed on the files to Chris and hopefully he will arrange for the files to become available to the wider public.
Answer to: Alan Morris
Re.: Speedcameras in UK - Your remark "what is th epoint today" confirms my remark that you can't use this database to base your speeding habits on. However, it does help to slow down safely from your somewhat too fast speed we all use (40 instead of 30, 50 instead of 40) which we don't really see as speeding. Since you get an advance warning of (most of) the cameras you can slow down in advance instead of jumping on the breaks as well as expect same from others and keep more distance. Furthermore the same system can be used for converting any other database from theatres to cinemas to restaurants to whatever else you can find in .csv or text format on the wider web.

Subject: Mbook Impasse
I gave my journalist stepson an Mbook - which arrived from Sita Shop after a long delay. But it didn't have an American charger, so it ran down after a few days of experimentation. We recharged it using my charger when he visited a week or so ago. But now when he opens it up, he gets the "My Schoolbook" screen - and that's ALL he can get. No combination of keys or tapping on the screen has any effect -- except that Fn+Esc does turn it on and off. I tried a soft reset, to no avail.
Can someone on this list suggest what may be amiss and how to cure this ailment?
Sincerely
J. Melvin Woody
