Re.: UIQ 3 - Hi Alan, thanks for the answer. Faster processor, more memory and inbuilt GPS sound a great improvement to me together with the disappearance of the crippled multitasking. Well, on purpose I have not upgraded my phone this year and currently have no fixed contract. If and when it comes I will be pushing Vodaphone for a cheap upgrade !
I also never print(ed) from ABP banking and did not answer the message for that reason as well.

Try: http://www.psionteklogix.com/teknet/pdk/netpad-pdk/epoc_downloads.htm Look for Epoc netPad SDK v 2.30 and let the Symbian OS V5 OPL SDK.
It's 26.4 MB.
Or try: http://www.garethjmsaunders.co.uk/psion/emulator32.html.

If you need help setting up, you might try my web site:
http://ohsix827.home.comcast.net. You can download some installation instructions (I use the OPL one) and files you'll need from there.

Sorry if tis was asked and answered.  Any way to get the Win CE ROM for the Netbook Pro working on a good old fashioned Netbook.  Trying to keep a use for this hardware alive a bit longer.
Thanks.

Answer to: Arabbitte

Re.: Itamars new keyboard - You are right that I had a lot of typing errors, but I had very little time to correct myself when I wrote it and just wanted to give it a "life" trial. I still have to play around with the various settings like sensitivity of the "keys" and others. I'll get back in due course.

Re.: Printing via 9500 - You wrote "BTW, apparently someone out there has written a Java program which switches on the vibrate mode on a smartphone to use it as a 'stimulation device'."     LOL !!

To Donald

I'm not a user of SmallBase, but as no one else answered I can give you some points.

First point. As far as I remember, the demo version could contain only a few items. Registration is mandatory for using it really.

Second point. Perhaps is it possible to draw a parallel between X-Link (which I used) and SmallBase ? Those two apps where writen very quickly by Eric Sebban just before he stopped programming for EPOC. May be he wanted to get rid ot (good) ideas he had. I can't speak for SmallBase, but X-Link is in fact "not finished" as you say. There are within obvious bugs that shouldn't be there : for example the program lets you enter a (too) long string and then crashes. It is very different from the other apps from Eric Sebban (DCP...), which are very solid and where you can't find those defects.

Third point. Eric Sebban doesn't not support at all the EPOC products. I had also no reply to my mails. The registration for X-Link relies on the machine number, so you can't change your machine... And I couldn't register X-Link for my new machine.

Forth point. PsiDat doesn't look very attractive (just like an old DOS
app!), but it is an excellent app and not so difficult to use : you can use it a different levels. The HTML export is splendid. PowerBase was very beautiful and also robust : semi-relational, with windows (like Navigator), all sorts of views - but whithout export or import (only text).

Hi all!

I have only just got my netBook back to rights after a long period without it.

I notice that SargeBook - Debian 3.1 has been released for the netBook. Has anyone implemented it and if so, what are the initial comments re performance, facilities available and what it opens up for the netBook community. As there is little going on in the EPOC world now I want to contemplate a move to linux, which I am considering for the PC as well.

Regards,

Jim Thomson.
