"Now if only I could delete those five Fax accounts......."
In the EPOC mail app, you can delete an account by highlighting the mailbox in the folder view & pressing 'Delete'.
It seems so obvious once you know it but, like many aspects of GUI usability, you need to know about it first & only then would you say it's intuitive. It certainly had me stumped for a while after I had looked all through the menus for a 'Delete account option.
(BTW thanks, to Rolf B for his thorough treatment of the whole SMTP issue)

Hello and thanks to all who have replied on this problem. My
difficulty seems to come from using BT broadband who do not seem to
supply details of any smpt server and of course the EPOC mail does
not provide for sending passwords for outgoing mail. Just now I am
trying to install SmtpAuth but am confronted with two zipped files
EpocUtil.jar and Locale.jar which will not unzip. The message is
"invalid zip structure"
Any ideas would be most welcome
BTW what UK broadband services will allow us to send mail without
this hassle?

Subject: IR connection Psion 5mx/MC218 and Windows Smartphone
Hi all Psionists!
Been lurking for some time now, the prime reason being my purchase of an iMate SP3i/Qtek 8020 Windows smartphone. This is IMO a most versatile little thing and it has replaced my trusty and same sized SE T610, but also my Psion/Ericsson MC218 to a very large extent. The things it can do with various 3rd party sw! I really do not miss the Psion calendar or to-do list; the PowerCalendar and PowerTasks from Developerone does almost all the things I got used to with the Psion. The e-mail client handles IMAP - no problems with folders and saving and archaiving mail on the mail servers, and links in mail directly open the Internet browser - the restricted IE does a fairly good job apart from sites that uses frames {Opera ffor Smartphone is said to do that, have not tried it yet). The screen is much larger than the one on the T610 but of course still small, but the clarity and the colours...!
I have learned to do almost all the things I want to on the iMate, but for one thing: using it as a modem link for my MC 218. Yes, I still keep it for some text apps etc, but also for some e-mail business. Am planning to buy a foldable bluetooth keyboard to go with the iMate (there is even one with Swedish characters and setup!), but so far I have had to use my T610 as modem link for the Psion (and this works fine if not with super speed).
My question then is: the iMate has a modem link option, but can anyone on this digest inform me wether it is compatible with the Psion way of IR-comm - with or without plBeam. Maybe different IR solutions put a stop to this. I have had no success so far in finding any info on this topic. I know from experience (with a Casio E-125 Pocket Pc) that IR comm between it and the SE T610 was not straight forward, think I remember that the PPc needed some add-on sw. Have also noted from recent postings on this digest that the latest SE phones {K700 and others) does not talk with Psions by iR as does the T610.
Best regards,
