Subject: Leap seconds (again)
Hi Folks,
Well, it’s not often Chris. (Mr Handley) gets it wrong - but only slightly in this case.
Apparently it’s not astronomers who want leap seconds done away with but some US people (probably politicians) who believe it’s OK to have midday at midnight!
C’est la vie.
Happy days,
Phil.

Ray,
There is a programme for the 9500 that does just what you want. It's called LightPlus from Roman Keller (www.romankeller.ch)

Answer to: Kevin.Bewley
Re.: routeplanner with GPS - what do I need? - I don't think y ou will find a package of GPs and programs anymore. There were 2 programs called Routeplanner for country wide roads and Streetplanner for cities. These came in UK and European versions. Later versions were called TomTom routeplanner and TomTom Cityplanner. You will have to find one of these versions and take into account that the maps are somewhat out of date (in UK for example the new stretch of the M6 tollroad around Birmingham is not on the map. I use a Garmin eTrex with great success but you will need a connection cable as well. I just checked and you can still find the programs on eBay. Can anyone help him to find a connection calbe, I don't remember where I bought mine. It was by post from someone in Ireland I believe ?

Re. Lifespan of phone battery - Yesterday I was traveling and my phone battery went flat very fast. I had to buy a recharger (forgot mine at home) and charged it during the day to almost 100%. Left the place at abt. 3.00 pm with almost full battery (86% or so) and had abt. 3 shortish phone calls and set Profimail to check email every half an hour. It downloads only headers and I must have downloaded about 15 messages or so, all small messages of a few Kb only and send a few answers. By 7.00 pm the battery was as good as empty again needing to find a power point at the airport. The phone is now in use abt. 15 months or so. I bought a new battery at the airport but wonder whether this is normal or not ?

Subject: Problem with my mBook
To Itamar.
Is it possible the mbook is not switching off on lid closure, a
faulty micro switch or similar. Have you tried switching off before
you close the machine? sometime my netbook turns itself back on
immediately after `I have tried to shut it down, not if I hold Fn +
Esc for a second longer than normally.
Best wishes
Tony
