Good stuff!

Yes please! I have used your site a number of times recently when trying to track down defunct/obsolete programs for inclusion in my own Pscience5 'Lost & Found' archive. :¬)

I think that's a good idea. I'd certainly prefer the old/obsolete stuff to still be viewable for reference purposes.

How about using PsiDat as I do for complete website generation/maintenance on your Psion? There an article about this on my site. The learning curve is a little steep initially but the ability to do it all on your Psion is amazing!
Best regards,
Martin

Hmm... I know, what it needs is a touch-screen attribute, as I know this is important to some people. I'll add that now. Please try the grid again with the new attribute set as very important. The P910i will probably win 8-)

Hello Ashoni,
You recently said:
> a DOS emulator - for me this is a number 1 critical program
I am very curious as to why anyone would still need a DOS program(s?), which must be 10 (if not 15) years old by now! It must be something extremely obscure for no-one to have written a suitable replacement in the intervening time?

... imo, by no means!
But I'd separate usage, config. etc. tips to make them more accessible than just as "miscellaneous info".
Thanks for your site :-)

Subject: Re: 25 reasons why I will continue to rely on the 5mx
Hi Martin and Steve,
>>6. Battery. For long periods I will not have access to powerpoints, or I might have forgotten the charger at home. But I can purchase AA batteries in just about any little stall or kiosk.

Antarctica is everywhere. At least nearer than it seems.
Right now I am sitting in a train in germany.
There is no mains socket and no 12V car socket, but some hours till arrival. Even a fully charged laptop would not stand the whole journey.
A 9500 might do, but it would have forced me to have charged it last night from maybe a not empty state. You can tell me what you want, but I have never seen a battery that not degrades its capacity when treated like this often.
When my 5mx's NiMH-AA are flat (currently in the 15th hour of operation), I just pop out the next set from my trouser pocket.
You said: "charge [it] from [...] PP9 battery"
What is a PP9 battery? A 9V "block" battery? Can you switch it against the empty 9500 battery?
If I do interpret you right, I end up with a 9500 with that PP9 dangling from a cable to the 9500.
Now store all this it in your suit pocket and lets try the "enter 10 words from a standing start" test again.
Can a PP9 fully charge an empty 9500?
If yes, how often can a PP9 fully charge an empty 9500?
If not, how long will the 9500 last after the PP9 is drained or how many PP9 are needed to fully charge a 9500?
The 9500 may be better in some points, but the power concept of the 5mx in unbeateble in my opinion.
The possibility to take out the power source and change it against a fresh one you can obtain worldwide without problem in almost any store by the user!!!
The possibility to use a rechargeble power source as well (if the user likes it).
The 5mx still reigns supreme.
Psee you,

Subject: OT Mobilephone Battery Life
Talking to a friend and I mentioned this list and that most of the members are located in Europe/Asia and many seem to use a Mobilephone as the main/only phone. We started discussing that concept (not yet a reality in the USA) and I was asked if the non- US mobilephone batteries last longer than ours. My phone has a battery rated at 3-3.5 hours but if on all day and I make a few calls, the battery seems to be gone and I have to recharge. Just looking for fact or comments. Thanks, WoodyB
