Subject: Nokia or ?

After about a year's affair  with my Tungsten C, I'm on the verge of filing for divorce.

The thumbboard is excellent and the processor speed high enough that file managment is a dream and it almost multi-tasks.  Another big plus is, being a Palm product, there is little chance of it's becoming an orphan (so I told myself).

About three or four months ago I bought a second unit for my wife.  Found that Palm no longer makes the C so bought it from Amazon.com.

Then two months ago my C stopped working.  As it is under warrantee I thought little of the problem and sent it to Palm for repair.  They sent me a refurb unit that had unfunctioning keys.  I sent it back.  The next replacement came turning iself on at random and switching application.  The next replacement had a navigation button that refused to operate "down screen."  The one I just received turns itself on and swaps apps like the second unit I received.  I haven't compared serial numbers but suspect it's the same unit.

The cradle just went south.  Palm told me they no longer sell parts and to find a supplier via Google which I did.

The honeymoon is over.  It's going to be replaced with a Blackberry, a Windows CE, or a Symbian.  The Nokia looks attractive.

Which unit is recommended? I want reliability - memory (64 meg?) and a unit trhat will be serviceable long term.  I have no use for a built in camera.
I'm multitasking now with my 5mx and Malaybooks so suspect I will be better off with the devil I think I know (Symbian).

TIA,

I have started using the excellent iDesk on my Nokia. It certainly
makes navigating the 9300/9500 a lot easier.

I'd love to have a shortcut similar to the macros Paste Time and
Paste Date. Is there any quick way of putting time/date or location
into the spread sheet and the wp ?

Best

Re.: Psion Revo: Linking with PC - What error message do you get and what linking software is it ?  Psiwin ?  If so, which version ?

Hi Itamar Engelsman,

Thanks for the concern. I have a Diamond Mako (Psion Revo), and the label of CD for PC connectivity software says epoc designed for Windows NT, Windows 98,  the version is 1.01, 75500291-002 copyright is in 2000. Taking advice from Richard<address truncated> I downloaded PsiWin 2.33 and installed the same. It doesn't solve the problem. My pc doesn't detect the psion.
It had been working well until about a couple of months back with my XP. Do you think the cable may be a problem? It looks okay from outside, no breaks. Rgds

I'm having no difficulty now in synchronising the Mac with the Nokia
- but why can't I get the notes from an Agenda entry into iCal.

Is there something I'm not doing - I have opted for Public sync - or
is this a shortcoming of the Mac/ER5 transfer ?

Best
