Subject: P-Plus, Recycle Bin
Hi Richard
I hope that my answer to Itamar in Digest 957 will give you the contact you need for Bridge software.
Dear Vlad
Thanks for the answer (which is what I thought) and the links. I should have thought of Martin's site (Pscience 5) it had just what I need as far as recycle goes.
FYI followed , via Eric Lindsay site, to Epocware, a subsidiary of Paragon. Despite the name, they now only offer Symbian telephone software. Also, the link to Kenny11 appears to be dead.
Thanks again for taking the trouble to help me out (for the future at least!).
Regards

Subject: Re: Backup and Banking
Itamar & Armin: A good idea to not upgrade Quicken each year, but probably too late for me now. I don't "buy" Quicken each year. Every year I buy TurboTax so I can do my indome tax and Quicken comes "free" with it, so I've always upgraded. I reckon I'll just have to hand copy into Quicken whenever I return from a trip (it's only once a year usually).
One thing I've thought of, since, so far, I can import a QIF file into a "cash" account, is to set up a fake cash account in Quicken, import my Credit Card abp into it, then cut/paste the entries from the fake account into my real Credit Card account. However, my guess is that within a year or two Quicken will simply drop the "import QIF file" feature.
Armin: I can't remember if I've ever had any problem "restoring" my D backups. I don't usually use "restore" for it, I just drag/copy from the PC to the card reader. I just tested by putting a blank CF into the card reader, dragging a folder with some files into it, putting the CF in my 5mx, and everything looked fine.
BTW, in doing this test, the first blank CF I tried (SanDisk 512MB) gives a "Disk not present" in the 5mx, but works in the nB. All my CFs are SanDisks and I've never had any problem with them. I tried reformatting in both the PC and in the nB, but the 5mx still doesn't recognize it. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?
Happy Cycling,

Subject: Restore to CF, P-plus, Bridge programs, New PDA
To : Armin
Re.: Restore to CF - Yes, in principle it is possible, I have just done it
due to water damage to my mBook I have to return to my back-up, my S7. There
are however some programs that don't allow the copying from disk to disk
like Route- and Streetplanner, Money and others. These have to be
reinstalled from their CD's. Other programs, I don't know exactly which at
the moment, just need to be reregistered by entering the registration code
again.

Re.: P-plus - I remember again the name Brevo, I did try the program once.
Thanks for the explanation.
To: Richard
Re.: Bridge programs - I am not sure. BridePro that I use came from Purple
Software and AFAIK they are not in business anymore, while Brevo of P-plus I
have no information about.

Re.: New PDA - Of course I have an idea for you. Buy a mBook or nBook. you
wil have a new 5MX with colour, larger keyboard and the same functionality.
Pulster has second hand ones available. You can type on your knees, on the
table and even holding it in your hands if needed.

Subject: Rép : Mobipocket reader ; opening twice
Ed, thanks for the tip. Indeed, the conversion to Pro version improves very much the search fonction.
I have no idea about having two books opened at the same time if Macro5 does not work. I guess it could be useful.
It reminds me of another different, but related question. Sometimes, when backing up with Psiwin, Agenda is reopened twice (with the same Agenda
file). It could be useful to just cycle between different views. But I never found the way to reproduce this erratic occurence. Macro5 doesn't help either. (It's different with BusyView. One can open BusyView many times with the same file using the Fn- Key). Has someone an answer also to this question ?
