Well, on my Netbook I have it set to connect to my home wifi network.  Every wifi network has a name, even if it is something generic like NETGEAR834G.

You can set the wifi name by going to Control Panel, Ethernet icon, select the WiFi settings if not active, Edit button (Ctrl+E), Options button (Ctrl+O), and then putting the WiFi name in the "WaveLAN network name" field.  For some reason they did not call this field anything sensible.

Perhaps your name field is already empty, and so it just happens to connect to your own network "accidentally"?  (Mine network is hidden, not that this provides much security, so I *have* to provide the network name)

Hi.

I do not know whether the upgrade module is proprietry or a stadard DIMM module.
However, I think you can obtain it from; www.sitashop.com in Malaysia. I bought my Mbook (and the 32 mb module) from them a couple of years ago. Malaysia may be far away, but the service is excellent, and delivery time (to Norway) less than a week.

Thanks for the welcomes :-)
So many questions it will take some time to compose the answers.

First: Keyboard.

This is a thumb keyboard but much wider than a standard phone. I get some double keying but very useable, rather like 3 series psion rather than 5 series. The keypresses are firm but positive and the keys are hard. Can access many extra characters by using number shift key equivalent on pc keyboard (blue key bottom left) and key legends are in blue at top of keycaps. For example £$€#. @ has its own key presumably because of blackberry-like use. In addition there is key marked Chr which pops up a box to choose various symbols for example %^>.

I estimate that the qwerty is 1.5 to twice as wide as on p990 and each key is about 1.5mm apart whereas my impression of 990 on trying it in a shop was that they were touching as well as being smaller so I couldn't tell if I was pressing one or two keys. The lady in the shop was quite good at the keys using her long fingernails! I think that keys are about 50% taller or more than 990. I have tried E70 on Tottenham Court Road today. The keys of this are much larger but still touching and, in my 10 minutes play, just as likely to hit 2 keys at same time as the E61. To further compare it to E70: the E70 screen feels smaller (need to measure to make sure) but increased pixels therefore text quite tiny, you have to use E70 as thumboard due to dynamics the same as E60, nice device but quite plastic feeling. I have no interest in camera and, despite hard haggling, couldn't get it down to price mentioned in Steve Litchfield's review on AAS this week.

Answer to: Mike Dyer

Re.: Treo 600 - That is great for you, but we have all different needs and requirements. I would not be able to do all my emails on a machine without a proper keyboard. It would also be too expensive to do that via my mobile phone (unless it connects via Wifi). I for one still prefer the two machine option where my phone is a phone, diary and daatabase basically with games, other data storage, and route program as well now, and my PDA is for emailing, spreadsheets, database for email addresses and other functions (bookkeeping, bank program, etc.) for which I need a keyboard and larger screen.I tried the foldable keyboard with the P910i for some time but was not satisfied as the screen is still too small.

Sometimes there is a discussion about cheap SIM-cards for temporary GSM-connection to the internet on the road. I may make a short visit to Dubai this winter. Any ideas of how I could get connected?

Hello,
I apologize for numbering the previous digest as #995. It should have been #996.
