I will answer my own question. I have it working again. Everything is hooked up correctly but sometimes you have little things you must do to make them all work and I figured it out. So thanks anyway and have a great weekend.
Thanks,
Bobby

Subject: Re: Connecting With Psiwin
A lot of people seem to have problems trying to backup with PsiWin when their computer (usually a laptop) doesn't have a serial port and one must try a USB/Serial cable.
Here's a possible workaround - what I plan to do when the day comes that I can't backup my Psion's C drive with PsiWin:
1. Install either Chris Handley's FastBackup, www.freepoc.org, or Ralph Sprenger's Backup, www.psionwelt.de. Either of these will do incremental backups of the C drive to a folder on the D drive.
2. When you want to backup the C drive, run one of these apps, then use a card reader to copy the C's backup folder to your PC.
3. This won't give you an incremental backup nor an Archive. But you can use a PC program that will backup incrementally, in conjunction with the card reader - check out Backup Platinum, www.backup-platinum.com. I find it very easy to use right now to incrementally backup my D drive - much faster that using PsiWin.

Re.: Contacts problem - You can try first to create a new Contacts.cdb and than to delete the file and replace it with the old one. If that does not work you can try and use one of the add-on programs to use multiple contact files and open the old one that way.

Subject: connecting with PsiWin via USB to Serial adapter
Like Bobby (your 24 November issue) I used to have frequent problems trying to back up my Revo Plus to my Dell laptop, which has no serial ports. The routine I go through now is about 95 percent successful first time so you might want to try it. First, make sure the Revo's Remote Link is Off. Put the Revo in its cradle & connect it to the laptop via the USB/serial adapter. Then switch on the laptop (mine is running Windows XP), this will switch on the Revo too. When the laptop gets to the log-on screen for XP ("To begin, click your user name"), click on your user name and AT THE SAME TIME switch on the Revo's remote link to Cable at baud rate 115200. I got to this routine through trial & error, not any technical knowledge, but I explain it to myself as encouraging the two machines to wave hello simultaneously. Hope it works for Bobby!
Chris.
