Dear Jean,
if you search your PC (either Windows Explorer Search, or something like GoogleDesktop, or Copernic Desktop Search) for a ".pst" file, you should find it. (BTW; I used a tweak program to make Outlook store the .pst file in a My Documents folder - makes backups easier, I find.)

Otherwise, first back up your Outlook data (File/Export/Export to a file/Personal Folder File/Personal Folders, include subfolders).
Then change your Outlook view to View/Current View/Active Appointments, select all (CTRL+A), hit Delete. Repeat with other views (Events, etc).
Repeat in Contacts: select all, delete.

Make sure you don't delete entries OUTSIDE the sync date range (PsiWin sync/Options/From Psion to PC/Date).

  Bonne chance!
  Karl

My question : I have got Outlook 2000 and Win XP. Il do not find any .PST file to delete and could not find either any other file related to Outlook. How do I manage to delete all the entries in Outlook (and sync from scratch) ?
Jean

Hi all,

The best way would be to write a macro which allows to choose each time which browser opens a htm file : Web, Opera... (don't forget MPocket).
But if you need only Opera, I think if you re-install Opera it will make it from itself.

Subject: Video on Psion

I tried this some years ago now and it did run on the netBook.  Very impressive!  There was a slight bug in the system that caused it to hang sometimes, however, I must say that it was a little bit of a gimmick but a lot of fun.  What I always thought was that this had some potential, however, without Quicktime Pro, I was not able to explore such things as how far it could be stretched.  I know, from my own experimenting with OPL, that by using a two buffer method, the frame rate capable on the netBook is more than 5fps.  If a system was implemented specifically for the netBook, it would be possible to have half way decent playback.

Anyway, it remains on my Psion for the fun factor, though I have never converted any clips of my own, or tried a full Quicktime clip.

David

Thanks Chris for your comments.  My Toshiba Satellite R10 Tablet PC has
a CD/DVD drive, but no floppy, and a SD slot.

It's a bit of a handful, being laptop sized, but a feel a stop-gap,
while waiting for something better.  I'd buy a spare pen device if they

a single loss!

Thanks again Chris,

As Jean said:

It's worth posting three times a question !

So, for only the second time:

Could anyone email me a registration code for Thomas Nemec's apparently abandoned TimeLog program for EPOC?

Of course if Thomas makes himself known, I'll gladly register - it's a really useful piece of software.

My address is what you get after removing the numerals from:

Has anyone get a knackered Netbook with a working keyboard, or know where I can purchase a spare keyboard.   I managed to spill coffee over my Netbook :^(.  Everything else works - I swapped bits over from my spare Netbook to check - but the keyboard types rubbish when used.

Many thanks

re: Panasonic Toughbook CF-T5 (- for Chris Handley & Alan Morris & others?)

PC Pro magazine has done a brief review of the CF-T5, unfortunately the review does not answer all your questions, however it is available on line at www.pcpro.co.uk

http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/100156/panasonic-toughbook-cft5.html?searchString=panasonic+toughbook+cf+t5

(search for panasonic Toughbook CF-T5 and look under reviews).

> I would like an answer to the touchscreen question too!  But I do get the *impression* that it is a "real" touchscreen (with 'mouse' buttons located on the keyboard) rather than a Tablet-PC stylus.  If that's true, then I would probably be LESS keen on the CF-T5, because Windows wasn't designed to handle "real" touchscreen, so I imagine it could be a cumbersome experience...  (Hopefully some reviews will enlighten us, since I doubt John Lewis will be stocking this, like they did my current Acer Tablet PC..)

The only way I know to avoid duplicate entries is to use one system as the master and the other as slave.  All other attempts turn up duplicates eventually, though the XP/Office2003 combination has been the least troublesome.  Even so I still occasionally find events duplicated.

The most trouble free synchronisation I use is between my work outlook and an agenda file I call Desk Diary where I rarely update my netBook.
Synchronisation with the home system Win98SE/Office97 is another matter.
If a large contacts update has taken place then I see large number of duplicates on the netBook, though not if the updates are small.

I too have requested help on a couple of issues and have also received no reply, but as my university tutor would say, "If you have nothing to say, say nothing.", so I didn't take it personally.  Though perhaps I could take this opportunity to ask the assembled knowledge base if anyone has has success converting video files for playing on a netBook, and if so, how?

} Many of the Time Stamp problems with Windows come from

Agreed, but I remember taking apart the new directory entry structure,
when long file names were introduced into DOS (I had utility programs
that read this direct) and it was a bit of a bodge.  (A 11 char. Name
would take up one entry and a 12 char. name would take three entries.)

It's not surprising that we have problems, but by then all PCs had RTCs.

} Lots of details here
} http://www.codeproject.com/datetime/dstbugs.asp

Thanks I'll have a look.

I'm now indexing all my photographs on Psions and the 0 or 1 or 2 or 3
hour variations in Windows, where I keep the photographs, is causing
problems.  On top of that, PsiWin backups (after GMT/BST changeover)
that have been working for years since I stopped using Windows and Psion
daylight saving features, has just returned - even on the same PC!

Thanks again,
Alan
