Dear Peter,
Just look at Martin Guthrie's Pscience5 site. There are plenty of macros in it. You could also use a macro which puts any text into uppercase, lowercase and "titlecase". I still use such a macro (a very very old french one - there should be the equivalent in other languages). If not, it's quite easy to write one.

The first thing that comes to mind is: "Is your netBook switching off when you close the lid?". Check the power settings in the control panel to see. Also, it might be wise to shut off the the machine with Fn+Esc first. Once the systeh is off programs will stop processing and wait for the system to come back on. I think even a badly written program can't drain the battery when the machine is off, it can when the machine is on though.
If you need other ideas, if this one is not the problem, I have others!
Regards
David

Subject: 'lowercase.opo': found it!
Hi,
Thanks to all those who responded to my question about a macro for converting text to lower case - the macro is now installed and work like a charm.

Subject: Lower case macro
Hi Folks,
Peter, the macro you want is just this (in text form, of course).
rem Simply adapted from Pascal Nicolas? macro
rem to convert strings to uppercase.
PROC Macro:
Paste:(LOWER$(Copy$:))
ENDP
It?s a little more complicated to capitalise all text and to capitalise just the first word of a sentence but it?s not really difficult. Oddly there are such macros for EPOC16 (SiBO) but not for EPOC32.
Happy days,
Phil.

I thought we had discussed & resolved this issue a year or two ago? I have the same problem, it is due to the open/close switch on the Netbook being faulty, and detecting you have the Netbook open when you don't. This drains the battery, because the Netbook keeps switching on.
The simple solution is to UNtick "Switch on when case is opened" from the Control Panel. I have no problems since doing that :-)
If someone can suggest an easy hardware fix (I never tried) then I'd be delighted!

Subject: macro: 'lowercase.opo',
Answer to: Peter
Re.: macro: 'lowercase.opo' - I just tried it and it is very very easy. Open the macro file Uppercase.opl and change the word "Upper" in the macro line to "Lower". Do save-as to something like "Lowercase.opl" and transform it to an opo file. Job done. If you find this difficult let me know and I will send you the file.
