There are those Psion Dacom Goldcard ISDN and Modem Cards. I suppose you can get one on eBay. It's a little black adapter and card, works on four AA batteries.

Hello Kev, I have one of these:
http://www.clarinetsys.com/en/product-esb101.htm and it works perfectly with my 5mx. Not very portable though!

I believe there is another similar device by a different manufacturer that is a bit smaller (though still mains-powered)

I had a similar problem a few years back with my Psion Revo. (Diamond Mako) I thought it was due to the fall it survived. The 'friendly neighbourhood electronic-repairer'  removed the 'spring' which was jammed, as I remember. It doesn't 'snap-shut' now, it just 'falls shut' when I close it.

Got it in 2000, now running 7th year, very happy with it. I wish it had an LCD screen!

Occasionally, my Revo refuses to close. I can push it into the "closed" position, but there is a slight resistance, and it does not snap shut. If I remove the stylus, I can close it, but then the stylus will not go in after closing.
After a few retries, the problem vanishes, and it closes normally again.

Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong?

Re.: Ethernet connection for a Psion 5mx - Sorry to tell you that that is only possible with a S7 or nBook/mBook. The 5MX cannot communicate with a Wifi card.

To Franco (and others):

To check out your Sandisk cards for fakes, see

To Franco, Itamar and others

Well ! Some people meant that it is a question of formatting. So I did formatting again, quite carefully. I did format my Sandisk Ultra II 1.0 GB in a Psion and not in a PC... I didn't copy the files on it directory by directory, though.
The result is the same. Some program crash : PsiDat with "OPL Frame 87" or "OPL Frame 87" ; Macro5 with "KERN-EXEC 5". Many others do work normally. But I do not dare to go further, because I don't want to loose data.

Cheers
Jean

Does anyone know where in the Psion menus to find the settings to change the starting and ending dates of Daylight Savings Time.  The USA has just changed DST ("summer time") to begin on the second Sunday of March and end on the first Sunday of November.  I've never needed to change the Psion DST defaults, and now I can't find where to set this.

I sent you a mail in private, about our Psion meeting Saturday march 17 2007 in Utrecht. I think that we can help you there. Maybe we see you
Saturday.

Steve, as my 9500 came with firmware v5.22, I doubt that would make any difference.  :-(

P.S.  I am saddened that no-one was able to tell me where I could get my firmware upgraded beyond v5.22.

A couple of reviews of this Netbook-ish new laptop: http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/100156/panasonic-toughbook-cft5.html http://www.notebookcheck.net/Panasonic-Toughbook-CF-T5.2628.0.html

The short reviews doesn't say very much.  The longer review is worrying for what it says about the dull/reflective screen & cramped keyboard, but it's difficult to tell if this is from just one review's biases.

A great pity that there's absolutely no chance of any shops stocking these (or any Tablet PC), as then I could try one out to quickly tell how it compared to my old Acer TravelMate C100 (which is pretty good). --
