Subject: RE: E90 and E61
I was looking at the E90 and it looks neat and if you read all the info it sound really impressive. I have a 9300 and an E62. I like them both very much. Like most people I was looking at the E90 with interest but I don't want to pay over a thousand dollars for one. I alternate between my 9300 and E62 and they do what I want them to do and do it well, so I am not sure its worth going from them to the E90 especially from what I have read here. We were spoiled with our Psion's and we probably won't ever find an exact replacement for them. I still use my Series 7 and my 5mx on occasion. My Series 7 especially for traveling and for a quick look at email as its so much faster.
Thanks,
Bobby

Subject: E90 apologetics
It's disappointing to hear of so many people bashing the E90 in here without really trying it for real. I've been using the E90 now for 3 months and am very happy with it.
Some specific replies though:
- It's NOT the same software as on the E61. The E61 used the last version of Psion's old office suite. The E90 uses Quickoffice. As does the E61i.

Of course they can. Copy and paste work fine (in both v3.85 and the new
v4.5) into any text field in other apps. And the new v4.5 has perfect round tripping (try that with Psion Word) and even loads of keyboard shortcuts designed to make Nokia 9500/9300 owners feel at home.

Cell selection works differently in Quicksheet. It's just a different way of doing it etc. Sorting and charts are absent though, a shame.

Just turn off Signed app checking in the App Mgr settings and you can install anything you want.

I haven't seen any Calendar slowdowns due to size. Remember that a 300K Agenda on a Psion is huge. But the internal flash memory disk on an E90 is over 100 *Megabytes*. So there's plenty of room to work in, and I haven't heard of speed problems.

It can receive all of them, but only shows you the five strongest. Yes, lock on is slowish if you've moved since the last lock, but they'll add Assisted GPS any day now and that'll bring lock down to 10 seconds.

Not on all devices. I think this is people with greasy hands, personally. Or just being fussy. There are no marks on *my* screen.... 8-)
