Subject: netBook battery
Hi,
I'm loading the battery of my netBook regularily each night.
But after 1 hour work or 3 hours of no work the battery is down again. It seems to me that the battery is died. But I bought the netbook 1/2 year ago, only.
Can someone explain, what was happen. May be in the netBook is not a feature saving the battery against overloading!??
A long time ago I read a report how to self make a new battery. I could not find the report. May be someone of you remember it and can send me the URL.
BR
Rolf

Thanks David and Bobby
David thanks for the interesting links. You say that the E90 is beginning to return having been temporarily withdrawn. That would explain the lack of visibility in the shops.
Bobby says that for $1200 he can buy a laptop or other device. Price is why I got the BlackBerry. But it has such poor software. If it could exchange files with a PC, Psion or Windows; then it could be a good device.
I don't want any office apps, as I've got Psions that do all I need.

Reply to Alan Morris:
Hello Alan & good evening everybody.
I can recommend you my Nokia E61i. It is the "improved" version of the E61, with a smallish but very crisp (lighted) thumboard and it is beatifully solid and quite thin.
It has a simple camera, which can be handy on emergencies and it is nice to have unless you use it in places where camera-smartphones are not allowed.
I also discovered, to my pleasure, that the E61i - despite running plain-jane Series 60 3rd edition (no FP1) and contrary to what written in the manual (in FR in my case) - happily supports a nested folder structure for files. Just like a Psion!
Now to your questions:
Synching with Mac OSX, via BT (and the free Nokia plugin you find on their site) works a breeze for calendar and contacts. iCal categories are not preserved, though.
I am less impressed by synching Calendar and Contacts with MS Outlook (via usb) running under XP pro: I had always doubles for entries which repeat over the years, both simple repeating and with birthdays (I enter the birthday under Mac Contacts and that gets mapped onto iCal, as it is obvious).
Cannot say whether this is a problem with MS Outlook or with the fact that these data were first synched a number of times between the Nokia and my Mac (which runs OSX 10.4). So it might be a Mac vs PC problem, after all.
Also in the Outlook case, categories are not supported.
However, fact is that Symbian looks to me happier to talk with OSX PIM applications than with Outlook and that is just fine with me: I canceled the doubles from iCal and do NOT synch my Nokia with Outlook any more.
Exchanging files to and from the Nokia and a Mac (via BT) or a PC (via usb and Nokia PC sync) works well in both cases. No problem.
I cannot tell you - yet - about exchanges between my Nokia and Psions, but I hope to come back on this in the near future.
For the rest, the BT module did need repair (under warranty), web surfing is what you get from a good "phone" and the occasional free application needs de-installing because it misbehaves, but, all in all, I am quite impressed with it and I found it more amazing than I thought when I bought it last May.
Please do not hesitate to get back to me - via the Digest or in private - if I can be of further help on the Nokia E61i.
Best regards, Franco
