Some ideas to use / observe:

1. Which version of Windows?

2. COM ports enabled in BIOS of PC?

3. Make sure speeds match on both ends.

4. Psion Link switched on on Mako?

5. Did you try doing a soft reset of the Mako?

6. Are you sure the COM ports you are using do not conflict with
another Windows process using it? In the old days, COM port 2
used the same IRQ as COM port 4 causing many problems.

7. If your Windows desktop has Active Desktop enabled, switch it off.

You can, of course, just transfer all your folders from the System screen via infrared too. The Contacts data is in your System folder (normally hidden from the System screen unless you switch on visibility of hidden files in the preferences).

Dear all,

I have been away from this list for quite a while. I return with a request for help. Due a botch attempt at repairing my Netbook I believe I have fried my RAM. If anyone happens to have a spare RAM that you no longer want and is willing to send it to me, please contact me off-list. This is my last Psion, if it doesn't work I will be looking at the new crop of ultra-portables that have hit the market. Prices are starting to become reasonable.

Warm regards to all and much thanks in advance,

Koi Hin
