Hi All,

Strange as this may sound, I am still looking desperately for a replacement for the (really) good-old 5mx. Tried several - e.g., Nokia 9500, Dell Axim x51v - but have been greatly disappointed. Recently HTC has introduced the Advantage 7501, with WM 6. Has anyone had any experience with this unit? Or perhaps some other, similar handheld for that matter? It would be very useful and appreciated to learn about it.

Thanks,

I am not sure if this is the correct way to ask you a question.

Can anyone advise about a curious problem that  has recently occurred with
my Psion Revo.

I have several Revos (two currently in use) and have regularly backed up and
restored both of these to my PC in the past with no problems.  Since I
bought a new laptop last year connecting the Revos to it has been
problematic.  The problem was initially solved by ditching the USB to Serial
converter I had bought in UK (which worked initially but then stopped
working) for one bought from you last year which worked perfectly for a
while.   A few months ago it stopped working and would not connect to the
Revo.  I have checked the settings with you and they are correct.

I now find that although the Revo currently in use will not connect if I can
replace it on the cradle with the other one this does connect and I then
switch the Revos on the cradle enter "NO" to the question about restoring
onto the other one then the first Revo will connect immediately and backs up
with few problems except that access is denied to several archive files (old
files ex my Series 3) which will not back up (they used to so I do not
understand this either).  Since the archive files have not been changed for
a long time (they are mainly old Agenda files for previous years) I am not
worried about this as they presumably exist on the laptop having been
successfully backed up in the past and therefore can be restored to the
spare Revo if required.

All my Revos in current use have been bought from Clove (one new and the
spare currently in use as a factory refurbished item) and the older one was
repaired by the main agent (arranged by Clove) two or three years ago.

Can you explain this quirky behaviour of one of the Revos and tell me how to
overcome it as well as how to allow access to the old archive files?

Many thanks

Michael Blackmore
