Itamar Engelsman - Thanks for the advice. I always forget about the .ini file. However, before getting your reply, I uninstalled the app again; looked for Enroute in Ferret; deleted those files which were left; re-installed the app. Now I can access Preferences and all works OK.

Subject: # 1223 IPOD Touch n a miss program
Itamar
I too been keeping a sharp eye on the I Touch - phone I know all to well that the day will come that my netbook/5mx will become a shelf display, I think the one program that I will truly miss is the simple Psion DATA program - mainly because the syncing to outlook subfolders within Outlook CONTACTS itself that at this time is the most priceless data input that neeeds to be updated/sync regularly - I am shocked that to this date their has never been a data program that would sync to subfolders - This is the one thing that I would truly miss (if I had to make a choice) because customer information in different databases is absolutely necessary n critical, and being able to have someone in the office editing info, n me on the road editing then getting back to the office n hit sync has always been flawless.

Subject: My 5mx back into use ?
Dear all,
There will soon probably be quite a funny situation that I wanted to share with you.
As a recent proud owner of the EEE PC I wrote to the Digest that I did not find replacements for all of my Psion stuff.
In a few weeks I will be one week on a business trip and the Monday after I will take the exam for my Italian evening classes. I will have to study Italian during the business trip.
Now, for Italian I use:
- Trueterm dictionary and verbs
- Trainer with my own words lists
- Jotter with my grammar notes and other things I have to memorize.
It may well result that I will go on business trip with the EEE (for business) *and* the netBook (for Italian). And of course the mobile phone and the chargers for all 3 of them.
This is quite a comical situation: the mobile office just lost its advantage in portability. :-)
I am seriously considering putting the 5mx back into service again, instead of the netBook. The Revo would be better, but that one just killed its batteries... again.
By the way: I tried treepad as a replacement for Jotter on the EEE, but it opens a terminal window and then crashes with a list of errors. To be continued...
Yours sincerely,
Thomas van der Zijden

Subject: Streetplanner-solved problem
Just a note to thank all for advice.
The problem in my case was definately a case of a faulty Compact Flash card. It had read/write issues and has been discarded. The program installed to a new card and has run well subsequently.

John.
